Colour Grading for Narrative Film
Covers colour science fundamentals, LUT design, and node-based grading in DaVinci Resolve. Participants work on a shared sequence of 4 short scenes across both days, receiving written feedback on each grade.
Three scheduled events across autumn 2025 — each structured around a distinct editing discipline, taught remotely by working professionals.
Covers colour science fundamentals, LUT design, and node-based grading in DaVinci Resolve. Participants work on a shared sequence of 4 short scenes across both days, receiving written feedback on each grade.
Structural pacing is one of the harder skills to teach analytically — this programme approaches it through 6 case studies from released documentaries, dissecting how editors built tension and release across sequences of 3 to 18 minutes. Participants assemble 2 original sequences from provided rushes and present them in week 7 for peer critique.
Multicam editing is rarely taught past the basics. This workshop addresses sync from timecode and audio waveform, angle-switching logic under different dramatic conditions, and the specific problem of reconstructing scenes where coverage is incomplete or contradictory. Software covered: Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer.
Each event page lists prerequisites, software requirements, and a session schedule. Read through before registering — the 8-week programme requires consistent weekly availability.
Seats are confirmed on payment. Cohort sizes are fixed at between 8 and 18 participants to keep feedback meaningful and sessions manageable.
Enrolled participants receive source files, reference cuts, and session recordings within 48 hours of each live session. Materials remain accessible for 6 months after the event closes.
All three events are led by editors with active production credits. Instruction is practical and grounded in current industry workflows — no theoretical frameworks disconnected from how editing actually happens on set and in post.
